I kept answering the same question, and it was never really the question.

This didn't start as a business idea. It started as a pattern I couldn't stop noticing, and eventually couldn't leave alone.
What keeps me here isn't peptides. It's what happens when science, human behaviour, and incomplete information collide — and how much difference it makes when someone can think clearly in the middle of that rather than picking whichever voice sounded most certain.
I began working in education in 2002 — special education, autism, behaviour, and data-informed decision making. The work was never really about teaching. It was about understanding why people respond differently to the same thing, separating what was actually observed from what was assumed, and helping families make decisions inside information they hadn't been given the tools to weigh.
In that world, decisions carry real consequences and assumptions are not good enough. You learn to observe before concluding, write down what actually happened rather than what you expected, change one thing at a time, and keep asking why when the answer arrives too easily. Do that for two decades and it stops being a method. It becomes how you look at everything.
My interest in this field didn't begin as a business. It began with my own questions, and then with watching the women around me ask theirs. The further in I got, the clearer it became that the barrier wasn't access to information — there is an enormous amount of it. The barrier was that none of it agreed, and nobody was teaching anyone how to weigh it.
I recognised that pattern within weeks. Careful, intelligent people asking good questions and receiving wildly different answers. Peer-reviewed literature, marketing copy, a stranger's anecdote, and someone's confident hunch all arriving in the same feed, formatted identically, presented as though they carried the same weight.
That gap — between the evidence that exists and what a person can actually do with it — became Elevora.
I want to be precise about the connection, because it would be easy to overstate. Working in autism did not teach me biochemistry. What it taught me was how to evaluate behaviour, individual variation, and evidence quality, and that is the part that transferred. My role here isn't to conduct research. It's to interpret it, compare it, and explain it.
For a long stretch, most of my time went to answering questions from women trying to understand something about their own bodies. Thousands of conversations over years, and the same handful of questions kept arriving in slightly different words — which is its own kind of finding. It became clear quite quickly that the question somebody asks first is almost never the one they need answered.
Someone would ask what to take for fatigue. Underneath that was a much better question — what is fatigue, physiologically, and how would I tell which kind I have? Someone would ask whether a study was legitimate. Underneath that was: how do I read a study at all, so I don't have to ask someone else next time?
I was always more interested in the second question. And I noticed that when I answered it, people stopped needing me — they'd go and work out the next one themselves. That struck me as the correct outcome rather than a business problem, and it's more or less the whole thesis here.
What kept bothering me
I want to be careful, because it would be easy to turn this into a complaint about the internet, which would be both boring and unfair. Most people making health content are trying to help. A lot of them are working inside formats that make helping properly almost impossible.
But the material available genuinely does fail in a specific, structural way. It arrives either pre-digested into a directive — take this, avoid that, do it for eight weeks — or in a form that assumes years of training. And the pre-digested version is worse than it looks, because a directive cannot be examined. If someone tells you what to do and you don't know why, you have gained nothing you can use on the next question. You have only gained a dependency.
What bothered me most was the assumption underneath it — that people can't handle the real explanation. In my experience that's just wrong. People handle complexity all day, at work and with money and inside their own families. What nobody handles is complexity delivered in the wrong order, with nothing to stand on, by someone who's forgotten what not knowing felt like.
I've watched a lot of women conclude they weren't smart enough for this material when what actually happened was that they were handed chapter six first.
And there's a particular version of this that happens to women. You arrive having already been told, more than once, that what you're experiencing is stress, or normal, or a matter of trying harder. That does something to how a person asks a question — a lot of women open with an apology, and I did it myself for years before I noticed.
So if you've been carrying a question you've been made to feel silly for asking: ask it. It's almost certainly a better question than you've been led to believe.
People deserve explanations rather than instructions. An explanation can be checked, argued with, and carried forward. An instruction can only be obeyed or ignored.
Accurate and readable aren't a trade
There's a stubborn belief that you have to choose — accurate or understandable, pick one. I don't think that's true, and most of what I've made is an attempt to prove it.
What usually makes something incomprehensible is not the difficulty of the idea. It is that the reader was dropped into the middle of it without the pieces that make it legible. Sequence the material properly — establish the system before the intervention, the vocabulary before the mechanism — and subjects that seemed closed become tractable. Not easy. Tractable. Those are different things, and I have no interest in pretending otherwise.
So the books are long. They'd be a third shorter if I were willing to cut the caveats. I'm not, and I've stopped apologising for it.
Why observation, of all things
The other thing I kept seeing: people generating enormous amounts of information about themselves and getting nothing back. Months of notes. Three changes made at once. No baseline, because nobody tells you a baseline is only available before you start. All the effort of tracking and none of the payoff — which is demoralising in a specific way, because it looks like your own failure.
Physiology varies enough between people that general knowledge only carries you so far. Past that point you're the only available data about you, and that's worth a great deal — but only if the record can be read back. Most can't. Which is why observation isn't a side topic here; it's foundational, and several publications exist for no other reason.
On uncertainty
I don't have every answer. I've found it more useful to say that plainly than to write around it, though it took me a while to get comfortable with how it reads.
A lot of health authority is performance. The confident tone is a style decision, not a reading of the evidence, and you're rarely told which parts are solid and which are the author's best guess dressed identically. When I don't know, or the literature genuinely doesn't settle it, I'd rather write that. It makes a less satisfying paragraph and a more useful one.
I'd rather you trust me on what I'm confident about because I was honest about what I wasn't.
On the tools
I use modern tools in this work, AI included — research, organisation, drafting, structure. I'd rather say so than have it be something you wonder about while reading.
They help me move through material faster and keep a large library coherent. They don't decide what matters. They can't tell me which question someone is really asking underneath the one they typed, where a claim needs a caveat, when a subject deserves more caution than its literature strictly demands, or what it's like to be a person making a decision without enough information — which is the condition nearly everyone reading this is in. That judgment is the actual work, and it stays mine.

On what I actually do
People sometimes assume the hard part of this is the writing. It isn't. The hard part is deciding what belongs where — which explanation is canonical, what a publication is allowed to assume, which of six questions is the one actually worth answering, and where a reader is likely to arrive early and get hurt by it.
That's the work: architecture and judgment. The prose is downstream of it.
Where I'd like it to go
A library still worth reading in ten years. Books, references, journals, tools, and pathways that hold together, teach in a workable order, and assume you're capable.
And a room where the conversation is decent. Where a basic question is fine, where reasoning gets shown rather than asserted, and where nobody is made to feel late. That isn't a marketing layer over the books. It came first, and the books came out of it.
What that has involved
Alongside the classroom, more than twenty years working in women's health — nervous system, hormones, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause. Different doors into one room.
The peptide work is more recent and more concentrated. Hundreds of hours of coursework, then conversations with the scientists, formulators and manufacturers actually doing the work, then walking through US laboratories and manufacturing facilities to see for myself how what I was reading about gets made. Somewhere in there it turned into a nonprofit I fund myself, focused on animal wellness and collaborative peptide research.
And something less formal that I'd argue matters as much: over a thousand hours moderating a peptide community of around 3,600 women, where I read and responded to every post and every comment.
The messages that came privately taught me more than the public conversation did. Hundreds of them — women describing what had gone wrong, what frightened them, what they'd stopped telling their doctor, what had affected their mental health. The parts nobody puts on a TikTok page. That's where I learned where understanding actually breaks, and what it costs a person when it does. Most of the publications in this library exist because of something I first saw in those messages.
